The problem I was trying to solve was a hot laptop on my legs. This was the solution. I researched a large number of alternatives before settling on this one, and I'm glad I did my research. Some of the available laptop desks were not rigid enough, allowing the surface of the desk to flex and reduce air flow around the laptop. Some were too thick, making it awkward to type on. Some just didn't seem very comfortable. The e-pad is a great product. Its upper surface is completely rigid, so the laptop stays cool. The bottom surface is soft and comfortable. It's wedge-shaped so the end closest to you is very thin, making it very comfortable to use. In fact, I'm using it right now as I type this! The filler material conforms to your legs without smothering them. It feels like rice hulls, but I'm not 100% sure if that's what it is. My legs stay nice and cool, no sweating, so whatever it is, it works beautifully.
The upper surface is pebbled. For most computers with rubberized feet, there would be no slippage at all. I use a MacBook Pro, which does not have rubberized feet. So my laptop slips a bit. I added eGrips strips to the bottom of my laptop to resolve this, which more than solved the problem. If you are not familiar with eGrips, check them out on google. I use them on my cell phones and other electronics to provide a surprisingly firm non-slip protective surface.
Anyhow, this lap desk has become completely indispensible to me. I highly recommend it.

I've been using this laptop desk for over a year now. Great investment as it keeps my lap cool, is just the right size for 13-15" monitors, and elevates my laptop to a the perfect height. My Sony Vaio 13.3" fits with room to spare. My 17" Macbook Pro is a little too big though, so have to use another leather topped writing desk I have instead for it. The bottom fabric is soft so it can sit on bare skin. The overall look is very cool with the metal trim. The hard writing surface allows for use as writing desk, but I have no need for that. Actually would prefer a rubberized top, a ledge in front and back and straps that could be pulled over corners of laptop to assure not going anywhere. Nevertheless my Sony laptop has rubber feet already so doesn't slide, however, Macbook Pros are more inclined to slide as they are built with hard plastic feet, not rubberized. I always see possible improvements, but overall 5 stars as this item has made laptop computing so enjoyable, especially from LazyBoy chair, that I totally retired my desktop computer - no need for that anymore.! Tried to rate 5 stars but Amazon only allowing more than 3 stars to be highlighted...not sure way.

I've been using my Epad for two years. At first worked well, but with age the cushion has sagged and flattened to the point where it now tilts backwards instead of forwards like it should. So now do I buy the same model again, or look for something more durable?

I wound up returning this product because it was way too small to serve as something functional for me. It's not too heavy, not too clunky, oddly shaped or uncomfortable - it was just too small to prove useful.

I'm using it right now and it's great. It is as advertised; big enough for most laptops, comfortable, and doesn't transfer the heat of the laptop to my legs. It's lightweight and well made. This is just what I needed.
