Put them on your desk and watch them evolve with a new creation with each turn. Put our "movies" on the wall and enjoy the added dimension of the image to enhance the performance of the sand. We offer a range of Sand Pictures for every budget and every person. We have found men like them as much as women. We have found children like them as much as grandparents. People from the mountains are as fascinated by them as are people who live by the ocean. We have items for less than $25 and more than $2,000. Truly, there is a Rainbow Vision Sand Picture for everyone (and in many cases, more than one!) Klaus makes the Rainbow Vision Sand Pictures in his studio in Lustenau, Austria. Each piece is handcrafted with love and attention to detail. He uses a complex, yet beautiful blend of sand which is carefully selected for each frame color and / or movie image. The soapy water provides the medium for the sand to fall, but the real secret is the air. It is the air barrier that separates the sand from the water. That is it: air, sand and water! The sand will search to find the weakest link in the air-bubble barrier. The flow of sand between the bubbles will create dunes, mountains, and valleys. A slower flow of sand will result in a delicate trickle of sand making more dramatic peaks and valleys. A faster flow of sand will make dune shapes. Best of all is you control the amount of air in each sand picture so you can make the sand fall as fast or as slow as you want. The Sand Pictures are educational for children while soothing and relaxing for adults. There are many sizes and shapes to choose from. There really is something for everyone!

Wonderful Desk ItemJan 02, 2011
By DFS I got this for my wife, who spends her day talking with clients on the phone. It is a great visual diversion, and is fairly large so it has a good visual impact. You rotate the disk in its stand to change the image.
Very well made, looks as if it will last a long time. There is annual maintenance, where you need to inject water to replace that which evaporates around the seal - an injector is provided.
For the price, I'd recommend this to anybody who wants something nice for their desk.

Moving artJun 01, 2011
By Rose Madder I had one of those cheap, plastic sand pictures that you turned upside down as a kid. Well, that old picture is long gone and I have been bit by the nostalgia bug. I really did not want to spend this much on a frame, water, and sand, but I am glad I did. The colors in this sandscape are breathtakingly beautiful. I love the gold sand/glitter added to the deep purple, black and white sand inside. Looking at this frame makes me think I am looking into a portal into some unknown realm. Really pretty and mesmerizing to watch.
The instructions for adding/removing water or sand was a little complex for me (as I have never done anything similar to such an expensive piece of artwork before) but I managed quite well. Upon arriving, I needed to remove some extra air that had seeped in through the silicone seal. Manufacture recommend flipping at least once a month. Come on, are you kidding me? I can't leave this alone! Now to justify the fact that I spent so much money on sand. I recommend this sandscape. Unlike the rectangular ones, you can rotate this at any angle and achieve some really brilliant results in the sand.

By A. A. Hamilton I bought this to amuse me in the kitchen while cooking. As it turns out the whole family loves to play with it. It's living art.

I ordered this picture as a gift and good thing that I've checked it before giving! The box looked ok, but the picture inside was smashed into bits and pieces! One would expect 85$ piece of art to be packed with more care.... Such a disappointment!
Really cool productJan 06, 2012
By KLC I purchased this as a Christmas gift and the person who received it loves it! I thought the price was a little high especially when the holder is plastic but I bought it anyway because of the different shape. Other than the high price it is really cool and fun and relaxing to watch each scene develop.
